Excursie NFI

Op 20 mei zal M.P. Vrij, in samenwerking met mr. dr. Jill Coster van Voorhout en ASA International, een bezoek brengen aan het NFI in Den Haag! Het NFI, uniek in zijn soort, onderzoekt bewijsstukken in strafzaken. Dit varieert van vingersporenonderzoek tot onderzoek van bombrieven. Tijdens de excursie komen studenten in contact met de rechtspraktijk, in het bijzonder de werkomgeving van hun gastsprekers van het vak Onderzoek ter terechtzitting en bewijsrecht in de master Publiekrecht (Strafrecht).

Het bezoek zal bestaan uit een rondleiding en serious gaming sessie. Laatstgenoemde is een interactieve game waarbij de studenten kennis maken met het onderzoek op de plaats delict. Bij aanvang en tijdens de pauze zal het NFI ons voorzien in een drankje.

Het precieze programma is als volgt:

12.30 – 14.00    Reis vanaf UvA naar NFI*

14.00 – 14.15    Ontvangst met koffie/thee

14.15 – 15.30     Serious gaming sessies

15.30 – 15.45    Korte pauze onder genot van koffie/thee

15.45 – 16.45    Rondleiding

+/- 16.45            Einde programma

* Er is een mogelijkheid om samen met een groep af te reizen naar het NFI. De groep zal rond 12.15u verzamelen op Roeterseilandcampus.

Normaliter dient voor een bezoek aan het NFI een vergoeding voor de personeelskosten te worden betaald, maar deze neemt M.P. Vrij in principe voor jullie voor haar rekening!

Dit is echter alleen het geval als je lid bent van M.P. Vrij. Mocht dit niet zo zijn, dan kun je er voor kiezen om voor 10 euro per jaar lid te worden of eenmalig € 11,- te betalen voor jouw bezoek aan het NFI. Dit kan overgemaakt worden naar NL38INGB0008159267 t.n.v. Studievereniging Maarten Pieter Vrij onder vermelding van het NFI + [voornaam] + [achternaam].  Je plek is definitief wanneer de betaling binnen is!

On May 20, M.P. Vrij, in collaboration with mr. dr. Jill Coster van Voorhout and ASA International, will visit the NFI in The Hague! The NFI, which is unique in its kind, examines evidence in criminal cases. This varies from investigating fingerprints to letter bombs. During the excursion, students come in contact with the legal practice of forensic investigations.

The visit will consist of a guided tour and serious gaming session. The latter is an interactive game in which the students are introduced to the investigation at the crime scene. The group will be divided into smaller groups for the gaming sessions and the guided tour (with Dutch-speaking and English-speaking supervisors). The NFI will provide us with a drink at the start and during the break.

The exact program:

12.30 – 14.00  Travel from UvA to NFI*

14.00 – 14.15   Reception with coffee/tea

14.15 – 15.30    Serious gaming sessions

15.30 – 15.45   Short break with coffee/tea

15.45 – 16.45   Guided tour

+/- 16.45           End of program

* There is a possibility to travel to the NFI together with a group. The group will gather at the Roeterseilandcampus around 1.15pm.

A fee for personnel costs has to be paid for a visit to the NFI, but M.P. Vrij will in principle pay for you on her behalf! 

However, this is only the case if you are a member of M.P. Vrij. If this is not the case, you can choose to become a member for € 10 per year or pay a one-off € 11 for your visit to the NFI. The amount of €11 can be transferred to NL38INGB0008159267 in the name of 'Study association Maarten Pieter Vrij' under description of 'NFI + [first name] + [surname]'. Your spot is final once payment has been received!
